Call: Seed funding for innovative UiO researchers – apply by 20 March

Services

Do you have an innovative idea based on your research for a new product or service, but need funding to develop your early-stage technology or service further? Apply for seed funding from us!

This call is aimed at applicants (faculty/staff, clinicians, postdocs, and PhD candidates) who i) are employed at the University of Oslo (UiO) and ii) have an innovative idea or are working on an early-stage technology or service. 

We have dedicated NOK 1.5 million to this round of seed funding. You may apply for seed I NOK 50 000 or seed II max NOK 200 000.

Join the UIIN Nordic Forum in Oslo 5–6 March

The UiO Growth House is hosting the UIIN Nordic Forum: Stronger Together – Driving Innovation Through Collaboration 5–6 March in Oslo Science Park. 

The forum will unite leaders, management and decision makers from universities, public sector and industry to benchmark and share policies and best practices for impactful research and development collaborations. The goal is to help universities, public sector and industry to discuss and further develop their engagement strategies jointly addressing the challenges society needs to solve.

The University Industry Innovation Network (UIIN) is a global network that aims to drive change in the higher education sector through research, training, institutional development and knowledge-sharing events.

New service: Innovation Coffee Time

This spring researchers at three departments at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences – biosciences, chemistry and pharmacy – are offered in-house innovation guidance from the UiO Growth House.

You can drop in or schedule a meeting to discuss innovation ideas with Ellen Johanne Kleveland and Katja D. Mj?s or get information on courses and funding opportunities. Researchers from other departments are also welcome to come by. 

The student internship programme Momentum: A bridge between startups and young talents

Startups need sharp minds, and students need practical experience. Momentum at the University of Oslo is a student-run internship programme that connects entrepreneurs with young talents who want to put knowledge into practice. This year, the programme received a total of 336 applications for the available positions.
