Vacant position in the UiO Growth House: Innovation adviser – application deadline 15 November
We are seeking a person for a 100% adviser/senior adviser position who can contribute to the work of UiO Growth House innovation and entrepreneurship work by giving guidance and support to researchers who work on innovative solutions in early phase drug development or digital solutions.
Successful opening of the student innovation space UiO iHub
Students from all faculties at UiO were invited when our student team opened UiO iHub in Oslo Science Park 8 October. UiO iHub is UiO's new place for innovative students and is run by students with support from the UiO Growth House and UiO.

What's on in UiO iHub?
UiO iHub houses several of the student innovation initiatives at UiO such as the incubator Insj with several start-ups, the student innovation programme Co-Create and the student internship programme Momentum.

Reminders
Momentum student internship 2025: Registration opened for companies
Companies that want to offer summer jobs to students through our internship programme Momentum, can sign up to attend in 2025. The Growth House covers 50 per cent of the salary of 10 positions in small and medium-sized companies. You apply for support when you register your company – first come, first served! Companies of any size are welcome to fund an unlimited number of summer jobs.
The aim of the internship programme is to introduce students to alternative career paths where they can utilise their knowledge and competence. Companies get access to smart, hard-working students who are interested in learning and contributing.
Not sure if your company should join? Join the Momentum Networking and Innovation Summit in Oslo Science Park 26 November at 16–19. There, students and companies who have participated in the internship scheme in previous years will share their experiences. Sign up via this online form.
Apply for a place at innovation course for postdocs 28–29 November: Design thinking and other tools to help you transfer your research to industry and real-world application
In this course we will take you through the steps of exploring whether your basic research can be transferred into valuable products, processes and solutions for society. The course is a part of the postdoctoral programme at the Faculty of Medicine. Through collaboration with the UiO Growth House the course is now available for postdoctoral fellows at all faculties at UiO.
The Growth House has engaged Joseph Makokha as course leader. He is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Entrepreneurship group at the Department of Informatics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. He has extensive experience in innovation and entrepreneurship and is an expert of Design Thinking, which is a method for developing products based on users' needs.
Save the dates for UIIN Nordic Forum in Oslo 5–6 March
The UiO Growth House is hosting the UIIN Nordic Forum: Stronger Together – Driving Innovation Through Collaboration 5–6 March 2025 in Oslo Science Park.
The forum will unite leaders, management and decision makers from universities, public sector and industry to benchmark and share policies and best practices for impactful research and development collaborations. The goal is to help universities, public sector and industry to discuss and further develop their engagement strategies jointly addressing the challenges society needs to solve. Participation for Norwegian attendees by invitation from the UiO Growth House.
The University Industry Innovation Network (UIIN) is a global network that aims to drive change in the higher education sector through research, training, institutional development and knowledge-sharing events.
