What does it mean to be Nordic? Is there a Nordic model? Where does the Nordic region stand in the world today, and how did we get here? These are some of the questions that were researched in the interdisciplinary research initiative UiO:Nordic.
UiO:Nordic was a world-leading research initiative on the Nordic region and the Nordics in an international context, and provided support for 13 interdisciplinary research groups.
The initiative was operational from 2016 to 2023 and had a budget of 80 million Norwegian kroner, in addition came substantial amounts of matching funding.
The directors of the initiative were Professor Haldor Byrkjeflot (2015-2019) and Professor Tore Rem (2019-2023).
More than 250 researchers were affiliated with UiO:Nordic.
UiO:Nordic’s closing report will be published during the spring of 2024.
