Tomorrow's Campuses: Transforming buildings, sharing spaces and enhancing student well-being in a safe and secure campus environment.

NUAS Planning group – Facilities and Environment, in cooperation with the University of Oslo, welcomes you to an on-site conference in Oslo, Norway, from Sunday, September 7th to Tuesday, September 9th, 2025.

Keynote speaker:

We are happy to announce that the first keynote speaker is Anders Tyrrestrup, founding partner at Aart Architechts, who will give two presentations:

  • Building 208, Technical University of Denmark: The future learning environment created with focus on conservation and recycling
  • Aarhus University campus: From a historical hospital to the campus of the future

10:00–10:50: Session 2: Sustainable space utilisation
11:10–12:00: Session 3: Reuse and transforming existing buildings
12:00–13:00: Lunch at Union 317 Blindern (sio.no)
13:00–15:30: Session 4: Guided tours of the Life Science Building and the art and history of Campus Blindern
15:30–17:45: Leisure time
17:45–18:00: Meet-up in the hotel lobby and joint departure to the University Aula
18:00–18:45 Presentation of the Aula and Munch's paintings by Charlotte Wiik, UiO's art manager. Music by pianist Thormod R?nning Kvam (thormodkvam.com)
From 19:00: Dinner in a private event venue at Cafe Amsterdam (cafeamsterdam.no)

Tuesday

08:30–09:00: Coffee is served at Campus Downtown, Domus Juridica
09:00–10:10: Session 5: Safety and security in a changing world with new technologies
10:20–11:30: Session 6: Increase student well-being
11:30–12:45: Short walk to Professorboligen and lunch
12:45–13:45: Guided tour of the historical university buildings in the city centre and the surrounding gardens
14:00–14:30: Closing session in Gamle festsal in Domus Academica, Urbygningen

Registration

Early-bird price until end of April 30th, 2025: NOK 4500,-
Regular price from May 1st, 2025: NOK 5000,-

The fee includes a guided tour of the Historical Museum on Sunday afternoon, a welcome get-together on Sunday evening, refreshments during the conference, lunch on Monday and Tuesday and dinner on Monday evening.

UiO has reserved 120 rooms at Radisson Blu Scandinavia (radissonhotels.com), a short tram ride away from Campus Blindern and walking distance to Campus Downtown.

Prices:

  • NOK 1795,- per night in a standard double room for one person. Breakfast is included.
  • Double occupancy is available for an additional NOK 100,- per night.
  • Upgrade to superior room is available upon request at an additional NOK 200,- per night. Please contact the hotel directly.

Getting around Oslo

Ruter

Please remember to always purchase tram and metro tickets through Ruter (ruter.no). The easiest way is to download their app on your phone.

Getting to UiO's campuses

To Campus Blindern

From Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel, the easiest way is to take tram 17 or 18 towards Rikshospitalet. Stop at Universitetet Blindern. The conference location is Eilert Sundts hus, which is right by the tram stop.

If you are staying elsewhere, you can also take metro lines 4 or 5 to Blindern.

To Campus Downtown

Domus Juridica, where day two of the conference will take place, is about a five minute walk from Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel.

If you are staying elsewhere, Tullinl?kka tram stop is right outside the building and is serviced by lines 17, 18 and 19. You can also take the metro to Nationaltheatret.

NUAS, The Nordic Association for University Administrators (originally Det Nordiska Universitets Administrat?rs Samarbetet) is a member-driven collaborative organisation established in 1976. NUAS aims to be its members’ preferred network for exchange of knowledge, competence and creativity with regard to all aspects of administration and services. Today, 65 universities and university colleges are members. NUAS has 14 interest groups that focus on specific administrative disciplines in the higher education sector, with a total of 125 active group members.
