What is an Instrument Price Category?

An Instrument Price Category is a name on a set of pricing rules used by one or more instruments or services collectively. Although it includes "Instrument" in the name, it is also used to set prices for services, training, and consumables.

Create a new Instrument Price Category from the Admin Panel

1. Click on ADMIN PANEL, the bottom option in the navigation menu (on the left side).

2. Click INSTRUMENTS in the navigation menu, and then Instrument Price Categories in the submenu.
3. Press the Add button below the table of Instrument Price Categories.
4. Select the appropriate core, enter a name for the new price category, and press the Submit button.

Create a new Instrument Price Category from the Instrument Settings page

This method might be easier when you want to create a new Instrument Price Category while setting up a new Instrument.

1. On the Instrument Settings page, open the Resource tab.
2. Click the + next to the INSTRUMENT PRICE CATEGORY field. This opens the ADD NEW INSTRUMENT CATEGORY modal window.
   
3. In the modal window, the same name as the instrument appears in the INSTRUMENT CATEGORY field. Change the name if necessary and click the Insert button.
