What is Digital signage?
The University of Oslo has a framework agreement for digital signage designed to meet the needs of most staff, students, visitors and other audiences.
This digital channel can display information on, among other things:
- Traditional information screens
- Weather-proof, enclosed screens for outdoor use
- Digital door signs with calendar views for meeting and teaching rooms
At UiO we use the Scala system, provided as a cloud service (Software as a Service – SaaS) by an external supplier. This includes:
- Creating and scheduling notices in Scala Content Manager
- Delivering real-time data from systems such as Exchange and TP-calendar to Scala
- 24/7 monitoring to ensure high uptime
- Compliance with accessibility requirements
- Energy-efficient hardware with no visible supplier logos
Getting started
Digital signage with Scala at UiO is for staff and other publishers.
Anyone with system access can publish information to the displays.
What can I publish on the screens?
