Sometimes the communication channel between device and management system breaks down. When this happens the client can't report changes in its state to the system, and changes made in securitysettings, profiles or apps will not get promoted to the device.
This need to be fixed. Users can attempt to fix this themselves, or contact local-it to get help fixing the issue.
In order to get this done, you need to have administrator privileges on the machine.
Do the following:
? Open the "Terminal" program.
(You can either search for it in the spotlight, otherwise you will find it under "Programs -> Tools)
? Cut and paste the command below and click enter.
sudo profiles renew -type enrollment
? Enter your password, and press enter
This is the same password you use to log in to your computer. (Nothing will appear in the textfield when you enter your password.)
? Choose "Update", then you will be prompted to approve the enrollment with your password.
? Fill inn you UiO username and password, and the machine will re-enroll
If you get any errors, or things doesn't behave as described here, please contact it-helpdesk, or you local-it.
