Change in wireless login

Up until now it has been possible to log in to the eduroam network by only using your username. This will no longer be possible. From now on, you need to log in by using username@uio.no.

This means that the only change from before is that you need to use @uio.no in addition to your UiO username.

If you logged in to the eduroam network by only using your username the first time you logged in, you will no longer gain access, but be sent to a site that will guide you through the new log in process.

What do I do if I already logged in without @uio.no and can’t get online?

If you are not able to log in to the eduroam network, it means that your settings are wrong. You will then be forwared to this page which tells you how you can make the correct changes. You can also find guides on how to do this on the eduroam settings page. Connect to “uioguest” to download the correct settings for eduroam.

In most cases this will work fine, but some Apple users have reported that they have to delete their current eduroam profile for the changes to take effect.

Read more about how you can delete the current profile here.

If you are still having problems, contact Houston or your local IT.
