User management in Educloud Research

User management is done by the PI or project admin in the self-service portal

Everything regarding user management is self-serviced. Every project needs a PI and a host institution, the PI signs up for their project and through this confirm terms of use and that the cost of their project will be paid by the PIs project.

All project members sign up to become a member of a project and the PI will acknowledge or discard the project member applicant.

From day 1 only persons holding a Norwegian BankID can become PIs, this will be changed at a later stage to allow anyone to become a PI.

Anyone can sign up to become a user.

A few services like forgotten password etc will be more cumbersome for those lacking a Norwegian BankID.
