Access to the Windows statistics servers and programvaresoftware

To get access to statistics software from a Windows PC we recommend UiO Programkiosk. Here you get access to statistics software without the need to install them on your own computer. You can also access data stored on your UiO home drive (M:), on a shared network drive or on your own computer. All students and employees can use the servers.

Who has access?

Anyone with a UiO username and password has access to the servers. You can log in from any type of machine.

Access to a desktop server

The benefit of working on a fullscreen desktop version of the servers, is that you have all the different programs available at the same time, and it is easier to navigate through the folders to find the data you will be working on. You can access the full screen servers from this shortcut:

Alternatively you can open VMWare Horizon on your own PC/Mac, add view.uio.no as a "Connection server", and log in. From here you select "Statistikk fullskjerm".

Choose "Statistikk fullskjerm"

From here you can access statistics software from the Windows menu. Ses a list of all installed application below.

Storing data

There is no backup of local discs on the servers. Your own data should therefore be stored on your home drive (M:), shared drive (e.g. lagringshotell) or on a cloud solution (e.g. OneDrive). You can also have your data stored on your own computer, and access it directly on the server.
