Managing accounts in Google Workplace

A guide to using your mobile device with your Google Workplace at UiO and how you can use your private Google account and Google Workplace at UiO account side by side.

Google Workplace enables you to be logged on to several Google accounts at the same time. Click the icon on the top right corner in your browser to change which account you are working in.

Logging in – username or e-mail?

Some may experience confusion when logging in to Google Workplace at UiO. There are two steps to logging in:

  1. Go to Google's log in site: Enter the e-mail that is your primary e-mail address at UiO. If you are not sure what it is, log in to brukerinfo.uio.no. Click E-mail and check which e-mail address is your primary e-mail address (xxxx@xxxx.uio.no).
  2. After entering your primary e-mail address, you will be automatically sent to a Feide log in page. Here you must enter your UiO username and password (you do not need to enter @xxxx.uio.no after your username).

Logging in from mobile devices

Google Workplace on Android

Go to Settings > Cloud and accounts > Accounts > Add accounts. Choose Google (Google Workplace is not an alternative) and enter your primary e-mail address.

Google Workplace on iOS

It is not an option to set up Google on your iOS device the same was as Android, but you can access your Google Workplace documents by downloading Google Drive in AppStore.

Logging out

If you log out from one of your Google accounts in a computer (Mac or PC) you will be logging out from all of your logged in Google accounts, both private and Google Workplace. This does not apply to the accounts you are logged into from your mobile device.

If you want to log out of Google Workplace, but not your private Googe account, we recommend logging in to the different accounts in different browser, or using the incognito mode in Chrome.

Mail and calendar

Mail (Gmail) and calendar is not yet a part of Google Workplace at UiO. If you need to send an e-mail from UiO, you must do this in Outlook, which is the official e-mail client at UiO. Gmail shall not be used.
