Creating groups

Send a request to create groups in Brukerinfo to give group access to the UiO IT systems.

How do I send a request?

  1. First, check to see if a group with a similar purpose already exists. Contact local IT or the web editor at your unit.
  2. Log in to Brukerinfo, go to "Groups" – "New Group".
  3. Fill out the form.
  4. Wait for a response from user administration, who processes the application. The response will be sent to the e-mail address of the user you were logged into while applying.

Explanations for the form

Read the guidelines for creating groups before applying (in Norwegian).

Group names

Group names should follow the guidelines and has to be explanatory for the use of the group. Please be aware that the group name cannot be changed after the group has been made.

Description

Explain what the group is for. The explanation should be understandable for all employees at UiO.

Moderator group

Setting up which groups can moderate the group after it has been created. For example when it comes to adding or removing members of the group.

Systems the group should be known in

The choices you make here sets up which systems the group exists in. A group can exist in more than one system. This means that more than one choice can be made.

Overview of what group types the systems need

For use in: System
Vortex: NIS_ng@uio
Web group: NIS_ng@uio
File group: NIS_fg@uio (og evt. NIS_fg@ifi for at gruppen ogs? skal eksistere ved Institutt for Informatikk)
Rights in Windows: AD_group
Sharing in public areas: AD_group og NIS_fg@uio

Please be aware that all ny group who is tagged with "NIS_fg@uio.no" (file groups), will also be added to AD_group.

Changing moderator access

If you want more than one group to moderate the new groyp, one of the members of the original moderator group must contact IT support and ask for access.
