Create a master password
When you start Enpass for the first time, click the Create master password button.
The master password is used to open and encrypt the vault where you store the passwords of the services you use.
IT security at UiO has set the following requirements for the master's password:
- The master password must be a password or a password phrase that is at least as secure as the most sensitive password stored in the vault.
- The master password should only be used for this purpose.
- The master password should not be the password you use for your UiO user account.
Note! If you forget your master password, no one can help you reset it or open the vault where you have stored the passwords for the services you use. All data in the vault is then lost.
Enter your desired master password and check that it is secure enough. Press Continue and confirm the master password.
