Admission requirements
- Applicants must document the Higher Education Entrance Qualification (generell studiekompetanse) (samordnaopptak.no) including Norwegian and English language proficiency.
- Courses in Informatics and Mathematics and Natural Sciences have special admission requirements. These and other courses may have other requirements as well. Check the course description of each course.
The Norwegian Language requirement
- The Norwegian language requirement (samordnaopptak.no) applies for all bachelor's courses, even when the course is offered in English. Only students following an international exchange programme are exempt from this requirement.
How to apply
If you fulfill the requirements, you need to submit an application (information in Norwegian) for single courses within the current deadline.
Which courses are available for single course students?
Single course students can only apply for courses that still have vacant places after the degree programme students have chosen their courses. Therefore, it is not possible to predict which courses will be available each semester.
Tuition fees for international students
From the academic year 2023/2024, students with citizenship from countries outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland must pay tuition fees to study in Norway. This also applies to single courses.
Single courses on Master's level
It is possible to apply for single courses on Master's level offered in English at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.
International applicants
If you need a residence permit for study purposes, please see admission for international applicants.
