Organic chemistry is a fundamental science supporting many modern innovations in a wide range of fields: health, material technology, biological mechanisms. We often take inspiration from nature, for example the synthesis of natural products and medicinal drugs.
This specialisation gives you insight into molecular structure and how we produce small organic molecules. You will learn how molecules move in specific surrounding, and how they can interact with each other. This study specialisation considers central problems in the design and production of organic and metal organic complex molecular structures as well as basic organic processes, by investigating molecular mechanisms and theoretical models.
As a master's student you will become part of a specialised research group. On completing your degree you will have become an attractive candidate for work in research, public bodies such as the Norwegian Medicines Agency or the National Crime Investigation Service, or in industry such as GE Healthcare, Borregaard, Algeta, Jotun, Aga, Kraft Foods or Shell.
