Learning outcomes

The master's programme Digitalization in the Health Sector encourages an interdiciplinary perspective and is open to students with both health and computer science backgrounds. The learning outcomes are equal for both programme options. 

With a master's degree in Digitalization in the Health Sector, you have acquired the following:

Knowledge

You have research-based knowledge of how digital technologies can be governed and utilized in the health sector, and you

  • have good understanding of theories that are relevant for understanding digitalization and digital transformation
  • have good understanding of health-related informational needs and how digital technologies can be used to meet these needs
  • have good understanding of digitalization trends in the health sector
  • have good understanding of legal and ethical aspects of digitalization in the health sector

Skills

You can make informed decisions concerning processes of digitalization, and you can

  • contribute in assessment, design, implementation, and management of health-related ICT
  • work in interdisciplinary teams with processes of digitalization
  • apply relevant research methods

General competence

You have the competence required for being a driving force of digitalization in the health sector and you

  • can conduct a research project and report on research findings
  • have good understanding of and can reflect on social and ethical aspects of health ICT
  • can provide an independent and critical perspective on your own and others' work

You can apply your knowledge and skills in new areas in order to gain new insight:

  • You can understand professional contexts and place things within a larger perspective. 
  • You can transfer ideas to new areas and use creative and innovative thinking. 
  • You can find and explore interesting academic topics of inquiry, both independently and together with others. 
  • You know well the importance of your own professional field in society and business, and can discuss ethical problems.
