Programme structure
In the programme option Geomorphology and geomatics, you will take mandatory and recommended courses the first semesters. The courses are a total of 60 ECTS credits. You start with the Master's thesis in the second or third semester, depending on your selection of courses.

Mandatory courses
The first semester you choose two of following courses:
- GEO4410 – Glacial and Periglacial Geomorphology
- GEO4515 – Remote Sensing of the Earth surface - this course overlaps with GEO3515 and GEO2240. If these courses are part of your bachelor's diploma, then choose another course from the list of recommended courses.
- GEO4520 – Advanced Remote Sensing and Topographic Analysis
Recommended courses
Course selection is done in consultation with the supervisor or coordinator for the programme option. You choose four of the following courses:
- GEO4171 – Floods, Avalanches and Landslides
- GEO4034 – Geohazards (overlap with GEO3034)
- GEO4120 – Near-Surface Geophysics
- GEO4340 – Fluvial Hydrology
- GEO4410 – Glacial and Periglacial Geomorphology
- GEO4420 – Glaciology
- GEO4432 – The Surface Energy Balance in Cold Environments
- GEO4530 – Airborne Surveying and Geodesy
- GEO4460 – Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Geographical Data Acquisition (overlap with GEO3460 and GEG2250)
- GEO5440 – Cryospheric Modelling
- GEO5540 – Special topics in remote sensing and terrain analysis (5 ECTS credits)
- GEO5550 – Seminar on Current Topics in Geoscience (5 ECTS credits)
