– The knowledge I acquired during the master's study in Health Economics, Policy and Managment provided me with a good foundation for the work I currently do and has been valuable for several projects I've been a part of. I also remember reading through some work material where a few theoretical models from the master's study were explicitly used, which was fun, says ?dne Kvernland.
How did you get the job?
– I had been working for Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) for a little over a year during my studies. I was fortunate to be able to carry out my internship course within HR. I got the opportunity to work there after my studies were finished, albeit in a different role.
What do you like best about this profession?
– The field of HR as well as the work itself is very multifaceted. I currently get to collaborate with amazing people within an amazing working environment. There are also definitely opportunities for development within the organization.
What other opportunities are there within the profession?
– HR is definitely a wide field with many opportunities. During my internship I worked more broadly with the team. I got to be a part of several highly interesting activities within branding, recruitment and contracting, to name a few.
Do you have any career advice for new students?
– I think sustained motivation is incredibly important, whether it comes from connecting with fellow students or choosing courses and work that really engages you. It will help you get through your studies, choose a field you’re passionate about, and eventually land a career you enjoy long-term.
