The committee is an advisory organ which adjusts and gives advice to the dean. The committee meets once a year, and when desired. The committee has a responsible position on the following points; however is in a position to delegate responsibilities to announced persons when it is sufficient:
- The committee must make sure
- the programme description is in accordance with §3.3 Regulations on studies and exams at the University of Oslo (Forskrift om studier og eksamener ved UiO)
- the courses offered in the programme comprise a professional unit and support the programme’s goal
- the students at the programme are looked after
- the study programme has a quality assurance (Bachelor /Master)
- the Faculty of Medicine’s strategy regarding internationalization is taken care of
- regulations for recognition of prior education and evaluation of overlap between courses are available (Bachelor/Master)
- regulations for the admission to the programme are available (Bachelor/Master)
- The committee manages resources granted within the general grant of academic/social initiatives within the programs.
The make-up of the committee:

One leader of the committee (head of programme- BA , HEPMA or EU-hem)

Four representatives from the Department (representing the disciplines)

Three student representatives (one from each program)

Three student advisors (one from each program)
The Committee is announced by the dean. The representatives apart from the students are announced for four years. The students are announced for one year. No representative can sit for more than one period at the time.
