Start of studies for Language technology

Welcome to the study program Language technology at the Department of Informatics. We are looking forward to welcome you on Tuesday 13 August 2024. There is a joint program for all Master's students at the department  13 - 15 August

To do's at the beginning of the semester

  •  From 13-15 August, you will attend the Introductory week for master's students.
    • On the first day, there is a mandatory orientation meeting with your academic department, where you will receive important information about your program and meet your buddy group. Wednesday and Thursday's program is for all new master's students at the department.
  • 15 August is deadline for choosing courses.
    • Important! You don't need to do anything before the orientation meeting, but it's recommended to look through recommended courses in advance. Read more about selecting courses below.

Selecting courses

You must choose and register your courses for this semester already on 15 August. You will receive more information about this at the welcome meeting.

Research groups

The research group for Language Technology (LTG) is behind the master programme, which is part of IFI's Section for machine learning. A large part of the master's programme is working on the master's thesis. You will work with one or more supervisors from the research group. It may also be relevant to combine language technology with other topics, where you also have a supervisor from another research group.

Social activities

There will also be social events throughout the orientation week, so you can get to know your fellow students and research groups better.
