Start of studies for Robotics and intelligent systems

Welcome to the study program Informatics: Robotics and intelligent systems at the Department of Informatics. We are looking forward to welcome you on Tuesday 13 August 2024. There is a joint program for all Master's students at the department  13 - 15 August

To do's at the beginning of the semester

  •  From 13-15 August, you will attend the Introductory week for master's students.
    • On the first day, there is a mandatory orientation meeting with your academic department, where you will receive important information about your program and meet your buddy group. Wednesday and Thursday's program is for all new master's students at the department.
  • 15 August is deadline for choosing courses.
    • Important! You don't need to do anything before the orientation meeting, but it's recommended to look through recommended courses in advance. Read more about selecting courses below.

Important dates

Selecting courses

At least half of the credits you take as courses during your Master's (for example 30 ECTS for a long thesis, or 45 ECTS for a short thesis) must be among the core courses within your field of study. The study plan for the Master thesis is prepared in consultation with the supervisor in October / November, but it is a good idea to choose courses that can be included in the plan already now.

Below you will find links to core- and recommended courses within the fields of study:

?Master's thesis

The selection of the master's thesis and assignment of a supervisor usually takes place in October. The process occurs in consultation with the research group associated with the study program.

Research groups

Cybernetics and autonomous systems is connected to the Section for Autonomous systems and sensor technologies at the Department of Technology Systems.

Robotics and Intelligent systems is connected to the research group for Robotics and Intelligent Systems at the Department of Informatics.

Social activities

There will also be social events throughout the orientation week, so you can get to know your fellow students and research groups better.

The events will be published here closer to the start of the semester.
