When can I study abroad?
We recommend that you take your second semester abroad.
Students are recommended to work on their master's thesis or paper to the extent of 10 credits combined with taking courses of a total of 20 credits while they are abroad.
If you have any questions regarding when and where to go, or questions regarding course selection, contact advisor Gunnar Mangset.
Where can I study abroad?
We have exchange agreements with a number of renowned universities in Europe and North America, chosen for their quality and relevance for our own Philosophy Programme.
The possibilities are many, but here are some suggestions for Universities with strong Philosophy milieus:
- We have good agreements with Great Britain. What about a semester at University of Sussex or University of Birmingham?
- Among our German agreements you find the academically strong universities Humboldt-universitetet i Berlin, Heidelberg and Konstanz. These are among the 11 universities in Germany ranked as outstanding Universities - a German ranking that includes 140 institutions!
- You can also experience the philosophical environment in Scandinavia through the Philosophy network Nordplus. Why not Uppsala or Stockholm?
→ All exchange agreements at the Department. I addition to our agreements, both the Faculty of Humanities and the University of Oslo have agreements that could be interesting for you.
