We recommend that you study abroad during the second or third semester of your master studies.
The exchange should be arranged in cooperation with your supervisor so you can select courses that are relevant to your master's programme. It may also be possible to work on your master thesis at a partner institution.
We have made lists of recognized courses from some of our partners:
- Michigan State University, USA
- Stellenbosch University, South Africa
- University of Calgary, Canada
Studies at The University Centre in Svalbard - UNIS are also highly recommended for students with admission to this programme. UNIS is relevant to students within the programme option Space Physics and Space Technology, but is also available for students from other programme options.
Want to study somewhere else? Please refer to the Department of Physics' and the faculty’s lists over study exchange options. You should also check out the university’s exchange agreements. Finally, you may also study abroad at your own initiative, independently of any of the University of Oslo’s agreements.
