Programme structure

The programme option consists of

  • theoretical curriculum (60 ECTS)
  • master's thesis (60 ECTS)

Theoretical curriculum

The theoretical curriculum consists of courses and, if applicable, special curriculum amounting to a total of 60 credits. Refer to the minimum requirements for the composition of the theoretical curriculum on the programme’s main page.

Compulsory courses

The courses below are compulsory for the programme option. If you have already completed these courses or equivalent courses previously, you will be able to take additional elective courses as part of your theoretical curriculum.

Specialisation

You can specialise in experimental quantum technology or theoretical and numerical quantum science. You will select the courses in consultation with your advisor, based on your master’s project and interests. Below you will find recommended courses for specialisation.

Exchange

It is possible to complete parts of the master's programme abroad. We recommend going on exchange in the 2nd or 3rd semester. Refer to the programme's main page for general information about a semester abroad.

Master's thesis

The master's thesis consists of a 60-credit research project – this corresponds to 1 year. For more information about the master's thesis and choosing one, see the programme’s main page.

Diploma and degree
