Course content
In this course, the four language skills are practised: pronunciation/speaking, writing, listening, and reading Norwegian. The course offers a basic introduction to Norwegian phonetics and grammar, such as word order, declination of nouns and conjugation of verbs, use of pronouns and expressions of time. Topics and vocabulary will relate to being a foreign student at a Norwegian university, introducing oneself, greetings, family, food and drink, and invitations.
This is a proficiency course with a final exam.
P? emnet ?ves de fire spr?kferdighetene: ? uttale/snakke, skrive, lytte og lese norsk. Emnet gir en f?rste innf?ring i norsk fonetikk og grammatikk, som ordstilling, substantiv- og verbb?ying, bruk av pronomen og tidsuttrykk. Tema og vokabular vil knytte seg til det ? v?re utenlandsk student i et norsk universitetsmilj?, presentasjon, hilsing, familie, mat og drikke, invitasjon.
Dette er et ferdighetsemne med avsluttende eksamen.
Learning outcome
Students should be able to understand basic oral presentations on the topics mentioned above.They should be able to talk and write about these topics using a basic vocabulary in an elementary manner. Their pronunciation should not hinder comprehension.
Studentene skal kunne oppfatte enkel muntlig framstilling om temaer nevnt ovenfor. De skal kunne snakke og skrive om disse temaene med et enkelt vokabular og en enkel framstillingsm?te. Uttalen skal ikke hindre forst?else.

Formal prerequisite knowledge
Higher education entrance qualification for University studies in Norway, except for the Norwegian language requirements.

Teaching
Class room teaching for 6 weeks. The course starts twice every semester. Note that you must have been present at least 80% of the classes to be allowed to sit for the exam.

Access to teaching
A student who has completed compulsory instruction and coursework and has had these approved, is not entitled to repeat that instruction and coursework. A student who has been admitted to a course, but who has not completed compulsory instruction and coursework or had these approved, is entitled to repeat that instruction and coursework, depending on available capacity.
