An example of how to make slides with latex using the beamer style (you may need to install it on your laptop, search for beamer at sourceforge.net) is placed under the link below. You produce a pdf-file by running pdflatex and the name of the file.
Please check the exam schedule and let us know if something is wrong.
Final version of lecture notes for fall 2007 is now available under the lecture notes link. Chapters 12-15 have been lightly updated. For chapters 1-11, only minor typographical errors that I spotted have been corrected. There is no need to print new versions of these chapters.
If you have not yet registered for the oral exam, please do so asap.

MHJ is away for meeting monday 5th and tuesday 6th. Marius teaches monday, while MHJ takes the lab session on friday 8th.
There was a small deallocation bug in vmc\atoms.cpp, the array cumulative\e was deallocated two times instead of once. This has been fixed. There have also been problems with MPI due to upgrades of Redhat from Redhat 4 to Redhat 5. Redhat 5 uses python2.4 instead of python2.3, which was used to set up our parallel cluster. Our system managers are trying to fix this problem.
Project 4 is now available. The deadline is set to november 12. It will be discussed during the lecture of monday the 22nd october.
Project 3 is now available, see under projects. The lab is open during the midterm examination week as well.
We will use the first part of monday's lecture (24/9) to discuss MPI (chapter 7.5 in lecture notes).Thereafter we move on to a discussion of random number generators, chapter 8.3. We will most likely start with chapter 9 on wednesday.
New version of lecture notes available under the link 'lecture notes'. Chapters 12-15 will be partly (small changes) updated after the midterm exams. The new set contains a chapter 7.5 on parallel computing, useful for project 2.
Project 2 is now available at the webpage, see under projects. Please send in wishes for examination time. As default we have this year chosen the period 10-14 december, but is this does not fit, please let us know. We may then extend to the week which begins with monday the 17th of december.
Monday 10th september Marius Lysebo will teach 12-14. Morten HJ is in Sweden for a meeting of the Swedish Research council. Morten HJ will replace Marius at the lab friday 14th.

Parts of the first lecture will be used to give a survey of the course. Teachers are Morten Hjorth-Jensen (lectures), Marius Lysebo (Lab session on friday) and Filip Nicolaisen (Lab session on thursday).
The computer lab groups have the following schedule: Group 1: thursday 9-13 Group 2: Thursday 13-17 Group 3: Friday 9-13 Group 4: Friday 13-17 The time 17-19 is open to everybody following the course. During the first week you should choose your group.
