Due to request from an exchange student the lectures will (most likely) be given in English this semester.
The normal weekly schedule will be lectures on Tuesday and Thursday, and excercises on Friday. There will be no exercises the first week of the semester (Friday, August 21).
As textbook we will use a set of lecture notes written for the course. They will be available on the course page at the beginning of the semester. Modifications and corrections to the notes may be added during the semester. A problem set will be posted weekly on the web page.
As supplementary texts the following books may be suggested:
J.J. Sakurai, Modern Quantum Mechanics, Addison Wesley (1993)
Michel Le Bellac: Quantum physics, Cambridge University Press 2006
Sakurai is a good introductory book, but covers only parts of the subjects of the course.
Belloc has a lot of relevant stuff, but the style is rather condensed.
It is recommended that the bra-ket formalism taught in the previous quantum physics course is refreshed, if necessary, since we will apply this formalism throughout the course.
