For the final exam Monday, June 8 you will be allowed to bring with you your own lectures notes and compendium plus standard math. tables and calculator. A rough outline of pensum can be found under Notes.

Homework 14 is now on the webpage. This is the last homework. There will be no exercise session on monday may 11, or monday may 18. We will go over the problems on tuesday may 19 at 10:15. I also put some exam questions from last year on the webpage in the file previous-exam-problems.pdf.

Obligatory homework assignment due May 1. It should be written electronically, printed out and handed in to the secretary in the main physics office. Don't write your name, only your exam number. Good luck!

First lecture after Easter vacation will be Wednesday, April 15 at 14:15.

There will be one obligatory homework assignment which should be handed in by email to finnr@fys.uio.no as a pdf-file attachment before May 1. It should be 1-5 pages long and give a report on a modern research problem involving statistical mechanics. A very useful place to find inspiration is to look up papers at arXiv.org.
