Welcome to FYS4130. 

I hope that we will have some fun in going thoroughly through the basics of thermodynamics and statistical mechanics.

Due to the corona pandemic, the first "lecture" with general introduction and information about the course will be given on Zoom on Wednesday Jan. 13.   

The plan right now (Dec. 30) is to switch to ordinary classroom lectures thereafter (starting Jan. 18.)

The lectures and weekly problems will follow the textbook

very closely. It is a very readable book, so I recommend that you get it as soon as possible.
