Final exam: important notes

The final exam will be on November 29, 9.00-13.00, covering everything that we covered in the lecture. You will be allowed to bring 3 pages (double-sided) of own notes with you (but no other tools). I strongly advice to start preparing and organizing these notes early, and with special care and attention, because this will significantly support the learning and understanding process of the rather involved concepts introduced in this course.

During the final phase of preparation and learning - which starts now - please try to use PIAZZA more actively again. This will benefit not only you, but everyone.

On Nov 25, 10.00 am there will furthermore be a dedicated Q&A session in ?467, which is usually perceived as very helpful before the exam. The better you are prepared for this, the more you will get out. 

Last but not least, please pay special attention and effort to the exercises after the mid-term exam! They provide the only way of training the new concepts introduced since then (path integrals, gauge symmetry and spontaneous symmetry breaking). Example solutions to problem sheet 8 are now provided online; if student participation in the exercises returns to a more active level, the solutions for the remaining two sheets will be made available as well.
