Welcome to FYS4340!

The first lecture will be held in room ?262 in the physics building Tuesday 21/8 at 9.15. However, the time and place for teaching will be discussed during the first lecture as we will need to do sample preparation and training on the microscope etc in the lab of the Structure Physics group in the research park.

We will use the ¡±Transmission Electron Microscopy¡± textbooks (mainly part 1 and 2)of D.B. Williams and C.B. Carter (ISBN 978-0-387-76502-0). The books are available in an electronic version through the University of Oslo library (http://www.springerlink.com/content/978-0-387-76501-3), and printed versions can be bought through Akademika (699NOK), Amazon ($61), Springer (65 euro) etc.
