Plans for week 46, November 11-15

Dear all, we hope all is going well with the second midterm. Here are the plans for this week:

Thursday:

a. Discussion of second midterm, we will most likely use the first hour

b. Linked and unlinked diagrams

c. Linked diagram theorem and diagram rules

Friday:

a. Linked diagram theorem and diagram rules

b. Start Coupled Cluster theory

Relevant reading for the lectures: Shavitt abd Bartlett chapters 6 and 7 on linked and unlinked diagrams. For coupled cluster theory chapter 9 is the most relevant one. The lectures follow to a large extent the material covered in these chapters.

Else, if everybody is fine with it, we could plan the final oral exam for December 16 and 17. Please let us know asap if these dates fit. Keep in mind that the exam can also be held via zoom in case you cannot be there in person.  We will use the time slots 9-17, with 45 mins for each of you and a 15 min break between candidate. The schedule may then look as follows 

9-10; 10-11; 11-12; break; 13-14; 14-15; 15-16; 16-17. both days. If you have some preferences for either December 16 or 17, please let us know. Also, if there are some specific times you'd like to avoid please let us know asap.
