We will follow closely the book by Mark Thomson, which is available at Akademika or online.
First lecture is Monday August 19th. The first week, we will cover the first 3 chapters of the book. The first two chapters cover material that is hopefully largely familiar to the students already, such as the fundamental particles and interactions of the Standard Model, relativistic kinematics and 4-vector notation, and basic non-relativistic quantum mechanics concepts. Chapter 3 deals with decay rates and interaction cross sections, and form the basis for many of the calculations we will perform throughout the course.
