Syllabus/achievement requirements

The syllabus of the course is covered to an acceptable extent by the book and papers listed below. Actually buying the book should not be considered obligatory; the lecture notes provided on the "Detailed lecture plan" page should suffice for an exam. The book can also be found in the library (first edition) for consultation.

Topics for the mandatory research project will be agreed upon between the students and the lecturer after the lectures specific to the research project (approximately week 10). The projects will be handed in at the end of the course.
