Here goes, a solution guide to this year's exam.

Here are three old exams from 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Thursday 28/11 and Wednesday 4/11 we'll basically have voluntary Q&A sessions in preparation for the final exam. If no questions come up I'll go through the last two obligatory assignments and previous exams (will pass these out in a separate link here).

Wednesday's class will be cancelled (because of a funeral).

There will be no classes during mid-term week (7-11 Oct.)

The tasks for the cruise report are here. You will need the data from both CTDs (the ship-based Seabird instrument and the handheld Castaway). In addition you will need the list of observations from the ship mounted sensors and the irradiance meter. You are allowed to collaborate but please write down who has done what. Hand in one report each, due date Oct. 17.

Since the course description includes it you are allowed to bring an "approved calculator" to the midterm exam. It will not really be needed, however, so don't despair if you forget to bring one along.

The questions are in English but you can answer in both Norwegian and English (and Swedish & Danish, in fact).

We'll have our day cruise this Thursday, 26 September.

The boat we'll go on is F/F Trygve Braarud:

The boat is anchored at 'Sollerud b?tbyggeri' by Lysaker, a short (5 min) walk from the Lysaker train and bus terminals. Google 'sollerud lysaker' to see a map. All need to be there no later than 9 AM when we head off. Call P?l E (+47 984 93760) or Kai (+46 70 155 03 19) if you need last-minute directions.

You'll need to bring warm and dry clothes (check the weather forecast) and something to eat for lunch. We should be back at the docks by 3 PM.

IMPORTANT: Fill out the web form "HMS-Feltkort" in advance, then bring us a print-out of the receipt you'll receive by email.
