GEF9330 – Dispersion of air pollutions

Schedule, syllabus and examination date

Course content

The amount of air pollutants is determined by emissions, chemical and physical transformation, removal processes and dilution due to mixing and transport in the atmosphere. The course describes mainly dispersion of gases and aerosols in the atmosphere on all spatial scales, from puffs from individual sources, via dispersion in the atmospheric boundary layer and in travelling weather systems, to transport on global scale.

Learning outcome

To familiarise the students with theory, modelling and selected observations regarding dispersion of pollutants in the atmosphere.
