GEG2230 – Spatial analyses of geographical information
Course description
Schedule, syllabus and examination date
Course content
The course gives a specialization in spatial analyses of geographical information, focusing on analyses of processes relevant for geosciences. The course concentrates on interpolation, geostatistics and generation/analyses of digital elevation models (DEM).
Learning outcome
After accomplished this course, you will have the following competences:
- could explain the difference between vector and raster data, and how those can be used in spatial analysis
- know how to interpolate geographical data, and apply more advanced geostatistical principles
- being able to generate and analyze digital elevation models based on points or lines containing elevation information
- understand the principles and applications of multi-criteria analysis
Admission
Students who are admitted to study programmes at UiO must each semester register which courses and exams they wish to sign up for in Studentweb.
If you are not already enrolled as a student at UiO, please see our information about admission requirements and procedures.
