BIO9060 – Plant ecophysiology
Course description
Course content
The course run every second spring semester. Next time the course is offered is spring 2008.
The course gives an introduction to biological, physical and chemical factors as the underlying mechanisms of the processes in the physiological ecology of plants. Topics treated include stress physiology, senescence, photosynthesis, and plant pathology.
Learning outcome
The course provide insights and knowledge of interactions between photosynthetic organisms under the influence of biotic and abiotic factors.
Admission
PhD candidates from the University of Oslo should apply for classes and register for examinations through Studentweb.
If a course has limited intake capacity, priority will be given to PhD candidates who follow an individual education plan where this particular course is included. Some national researchers’ schools may have specific rules for ranking applicants for courses with limited intake capacity.
PhD candidates who have been admitted to another higher education institution must apply for a position as a visiting student within a given deadline.

Teaching
The course is given in the spring term, and includes lectures (45 h), colloquia and laboratory work (20 h).
Examination
Approved participation in the teaching is necessary in order for the student to be eligible for the final exam. One written examination at the end of the semester (3 hours). Pass/fail.
