Exam info

Dear all MBV4120/9120 students,

We hope you are all well! Here is some information about the exam and the teaching plan for the remainder of the course.

Some information about the exam:

There will be no written exams taking place in Silurveien or at other UiO locations during the spring 2020.

For MBV4120/9120 the exam assessment will take place away from UiO (normally at home) as a written exam.

Since the exam date is prior to May 1st, the exam is not subject to the recently announced regulations for exams taking place after that date. We can already now give you some important information:

  • the exam date will be as previously announced  (30 April from 9:00 AM)
  • the exam will have an estimated workload of 3 hours (more information will follow on how much time you will have to answer the exam.)
  • the exam will be a written home exam, carried out  in Inspera.
  • the exam will have a grading scale with letters (A-F)
  • examination support materials (e.g.books, articles and lectures) are permitted
  • the exam paper will have a similar form as recent years (with some changes due to examination support materials being permitted)

We will arrange for a test exam in Inspera in week 17 or 18 so that you can learn how to use the system from home.

Some information about the teaching plan for the rest of the semester (see updated teaching plan):

  • Lectures and colloquia will run as planned this week (Chromatin Structure - Epigenetics, Imprinting and the histone code).
  • Lectures and colloquia will run as planned after Easter, week 17 (Modification of Genomes, Recombination, Rearrangement and modification)
  • Please note change: In week 18, there will be lectures and colloquia on 21 and 22 April, at 12:15
  • The oral presentations on April 24 are cancelled. The learning outcome of the oral presentation will be integrated in the curriculum in week 17 and 18.
  • A Zoom questions colloquium (ask any questions) will be arranged in week 18.

Best regards

Paul & P?l
