More on group sessions

Dear students,

This is an update regarding the group sessions for IN3050/IN4050. We hope you're satisfied with the way group sessions have been going so far in the new online format.

However, given the proximity of the delivery deadline for the second mandatory assignment, and the number of students individually asking for help in the group sessions, we have a few suggestions how to make the group sessions more efficient time-wise.

We kindly ask you to do the following:

1) Please continue using the sign-up sheet for 1-on-1 slots (available at the same link we published previously: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1a7_oiJUBl3GDL1f883-8mQxI8lsf16WfTyCMnZ-aVM4/)

2) To help us better prepare for the group session -- and see if there are any common questions we could safely discuss with the entire group -- please formulate your question into an email and send it to the group teacher before the session, as early as possible. The group teacher emails are listed in the sign-up sheet (linked above), and also available below:

    Chen (haiyuec@ifi.uio.no): Thu 12-14
    Maja (majabu@ifi.uio.no): Wed 17-19
    Stefan (stefanre@ifi.uio.no): Mon 14-16
    H?kon (haakonbc@math.uio.no): Wed 12-14
    Marius (mariuhh@student.matnat.uio.no): Wed 8-10
    Vegard (vegarbjo@ifi.uio.no): Mon 12-14

3) During the group session, before you speak to the group teacher, please prepare everything you need beforehand, as you would in a "regular" group session. For example, if you want to discuss part of your code, or some issues you have with an assignment, this would mean having your editor open and showing the portion of code you want to talk about, or running the program beforehand to show a print-out or error message that's relevant to your question.

Thank you for helping us be efficient and productive. See you in the group sessions!
