Please note the possibility of including hand drawn illustrations in the exam answer by including a photo. You will be given 30 minutes extra for uploading files etc.
The final exam this year will be rather similar to the exam in IN4030 in 2019 and to INF4350 in the years 2013 to 2018. All the old exams are available in Canvas. The exam in 2020 was rather special and different as the students had a whole week to work on it. Also, since all materials are allowed this year, more weight will be put on understanding methods and concepts and less on facts that can be easily looked up. Good luck with the exam!
The final exam in IN4030 will be held on June 2nd, from 09.00 to 13.00. It will be a digital written home exam with delivery in Inspera.
All supporting materials are permitted (textbook, articles, presentations, websites, notes etc). Please make sure you properly quote or cite other's work as appropriate.
It is NOT permitted to collaborate or communicate with anyone about the exam problems during the exam.
There will be a "digital lecturer's round" at 10.00 on Zoom with the usual meeting ID and password (see Canvas for details). You may join the Zoom meeting if you have any questions about the exam or need clarifications, but it is fully optional. You may also send an email or call (use the mobile phone number) the lecturer for help during the exam.
The results of partial exam 1 should now be available in Inspera. There should be an explanation including a score from 0-30 and some brief comments on your answers.
Partial exam 2 is now available on Canvas. The deadline for submission of answers is Friday 7 May at 17.00.
Unfortunately, there will not be a live lecture on Zoom today, 24 March, due to illness. Instead you may watch the recorded lecture from course week 10 last year.
A detailed list of relevant book chapters and articles for each course week is now available. The relevant pages in each chapter are indicated. Unfortunately not all parts of the course is covered well by the book; these will be covered by articles.
There is a typo in the text of partial exam 1. Exercise 2a mentions "lesson 12.5" in the textbook. It should be "lesson 5.12".

The materials for course week 2 (lecture presentation, questions, exercises) are now available on Canvas.
The government has extended the recommendations for digital teaching at Universities. Teaching in IN4030 will therefore be given on Zoom in the coming weeks. Please see Canvas or Mattermost for Zoom details.
The first recorded lecture video is now available. Access is limited to students in the course and UiO employees, so login is required.
