It was noticed that it was unclear what was the right answer for a previous exam related to technical debt interest. Technical debt interest is the cost of keeping it (the negative impact), not the cost of removing it (refactoring).

In this course there is an explicit slide about what interest of technical debt is, see slide 10 from the technical debt lecture. In addition, as reported in the course material for that lecture, some additional concepts (such as principal) are explained in a previous lecture, see here: https://www.mn.uio.no/ifi/english/people/aca/antonima/presentations/in2000-arkitekturogtekniskgjeld-2024.31.02_default.mp4?vrtx=view-as-webpage
