The Administration has updated the plan of oral exams. Room numbers have changed. Please see "Examination/form of assessment" section for details.
As announced earlier, the strict deadline for report delivery is 15.4.2011 (Friday) at noon of Oslo time. It has to be delivered in two ways:
1. Printed report, max. 10 pages in IEEE format, without source code. It has to be left in a special box at the student administration.
2. E-mail to me (piotr@ifi.uio.no), containing an archive with the report, source code, traces and other files you have created, and that are necessary to build/run/test your project. If the archive is unreasonably big to be sent via e-mail, please deliver it on a CD/DVD along with the printed report.
The address of the lecture repository has changed to http://heim.ifi.uio.no/~dmms/inf5090/Lectures. Credentials remain unchanged. We are sorry for inconvenience.
The lecture about Delay Tolerant Networking has been rescheduled to 30.03 due to lecturer's absence. Instead, there will be a playback about Publish/Subscribe Internetworking.
Added materials on Policy-based Network Management & Resilience. This lecture has been recorded at the Lancaster University and can be of help with some group assignments.
The next lecture (on 9.03.2011) will be a bit shorter than previous lectures. We will use the remaining time for a tutorial about NS-3. It will also be recorded and made available for download.
The list of groups for assignments is out! It can be downloaded here. The credentials are the same as for slides and recordings. You will find it in the course email from Feb 4th 2011. In case of problems, please contact the teacher assistant.
The oral exam will take place on May 25th and 26th in colloquium rooms ("kollokvierommene") by the lecture room Fortress (3468). Preparation will be done in colloquium rooms by the lecture room Euclid (3458). Use this map in case of problems with locating the rooms.
Two assignments from Lancaster University have been added to the list .
A new topic On the evolution of communities in MANETS has been added to the list
A new topic Optimizing bandwidth usage in DENS (Distributed Event Notification Service) at a variable publication rate has been added to the list
The students from the University of Mannheim and their supervisor will visit us from 16.2. to 17.2. The goal is that at least those students from UiO and Mannheim that will work together on an assignment should meet and discuss these days. To know each other personally helps a lot!
Dr. Stefan Kopf will give his lecture on "Image Retargeting". It could be especially useful to those who would like to work on the assignment about image retargeting, however everybody is welcome. The lecture will be held 12:15 - 14:00 in the room Pascal (2452), Ole-Johan Dahls hus.
The registration deadline has been set to February 1st. If anybody was unable to register due to the limited number of participants, please try again. The limit has been increased.
A tentative teaching plan is available.
The timeframe for the lab assignments is 07.03.2011 - 15.04.2011.
Note that the lectures will be given on Wednesdays 14:15 -17:00 in Caml (3438), Ole-Johan Dahls hus.
Please remember that the first lecture on Wednesday, January 26th is mandatory.
