Within the earlier phases of your essay it is important for you to consider and describe the following:

  • What assignment you have chosen: Practical, Empirical or Theoretical.
  • Which issue(s) you want to investigate.
  • What CSCW is and how this definition relates to what you want to investigate (you’ll be able to expand further on this issue as the course proceeds).
  • Following the above: How do you want to approach the assignment?
  • If you, e.g., want to use ANT you’ll have to justify how it is fruitful for your CSCW related study.

For earlier drafts it's ok to leave open some questions – maybe you’re not quite sure what the topic should (r)evolve around yet; but write down your ideas. If you include reflections like these it’s easier to guide you to a study you find interesting and which makes you work with the literature presented in class -- you are to be well wandered in syllabus at the exam.
