Dear Students,

As you may have seen from its description, this course is about drafting the informatics / computer science of the future. A profound and sweeping change is under way, and you are invited to take part in it.

I've been developing a vivid and thorough illustration in my Proposal to Stanford and Google. What is linked here is your special copy, which you are welcome to comment and turn into a conversation, with me and with one another. Much of the course this year will be based on this document.

If you'll find all this half as exciting as I am finding it, then we'll have an interesting time together!

Next year I'll be on sabbatical (perhaps at Stanford or at Google) and the seminar will not be taught.
