Course content
Theories on globalization, global media, standardization and global infrastructures, global jurisdiction and the globalization of media in a historical perspective.
Learning outcome
The module will give students an understanding of the global character of digital media, the implications of globalization on their development and dynamics, the role they play and how to influence and regulate these processes.

INF1000 – Introduction to object-oriented programming (continued) /INF 101, INF1050 – Systems Development (continued) /INF 102, INF1040 – Digital Representation (discontinued), MEVIT1700 – Digital kultur, MEVIT2723 – Digitale mediers historie (discontinued), MEVIT2722 – Digitale mediers uttrykksformer (discontinued), MRT1001 and MRT2001
Overlapping courses
10 credits with DIG3800 – Global media (discontinued).
Teaching
2 hours of lectures and 2 hours of problem sessions per week. The students must hand in and pass obligatory tasks before they are admitted to take the exam.
Examination
4 hour written examination at the end of the semester. Graded marks.
Other
Note that the first lecture is compulsory. This course is only open for students admitted to the Digitale Medier programme.
