Welcome to KJM-FRM5055!
Dear students, welcome to the course!
KJM-FRM5055 is focused on advanced methods for the determination of organic compounds in various matrices such as biological fluids (e.g. serum, urine, cell cultures) and environmental samples (e.g. surface water).
After completing this course:
- you are familiar with advanced techniques for sample preparation (both off-line and on-line)
- you have extensive knowledge of gas chromatography and GC-MS
- you have extensive knowledge of supercritical fluid chromatography
- you have extensive knowledge of electrophoresis techniques
- you have cutting-edge knowledge about the field of liquid chromatography (including new separation columns)
- you can familiarize yourself with scientific literature in the field and communicate your knowledge to scientific peers (symposium/conference level)
In the following dates, we will discuss various topics (see Leganto link for files that are the curriculum):
29/8: Introduction/LC
19/9: GC
3/10: CE CE-MS SFC
17/10: Sample preparation
31/10: Proteomics
14/11: Examen Colloquia
In these dates, you will have discussions with the course teachers. You will be encouraged to form and participate in discussion groups prior to these meetings. In other words, you prepare the question you have about the curriculum. We have found this to be a meaningful and educational way to learn and discuss the topic.
Depending on the number of students, we will have either oral or written exams. More information on this will be announced asap.
