Welcome to the project work courses!
Welcome to the project work courses! All plenary teaching in MAT2000, MEK3200 and STK-MAT2011 are joint lectures and group work in January and February. The majority of the semester is spent working on a project with an assigned supervisor, which will culminate in a written paper and an oral exam.
Depending on the national Corona regulations, some of the lectures will be digital, and Zoom links are posted on this web page (UiO-login required). This may change with short notice throughout the semester, so please subscribe to the messages and check in on this web page and the schedule regularly.
The lectures are primarily led by Karoline Moe. In addition, each course has a course leader:
- MAT2000: Tuyen Trung Truong
- MEK3200: Irina Didenkulova
- STK-MAT2011: Sven Ove Samuelsen and Riccardo De Bin
The course leaders are responsible for pairing students with supervisors before February 1st, grading the project work, and organizing and grading the oral exam.
The first few weeks consist of lectures on generic writing and research skills. The learning outcomes of the lectures are tested in a short written mandatory assignment with deadline February 25th, graded by Karoline and the appropriate course leader, followed by an oral presentation in small groups in early March.
Help desks will be organized before the mandatory assignment and before the project deadline May 20th.
