Congratulations to all of you who took the exam in MAT4210! Send me an e-mail if you want to know which grade you got. Thanks for being a good crowd in class, and good luck to those of you who will go on with MAT4215, starting next week.

Now you just got the corrected list from Biljana - you can also find it here!

There will be no lecture Tuesday March 11, due to the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Law of Mass Action, found by Cato Guldberg (professor of mathematics) and Peter Waage (professor of chemistry). (Waage was my great grandfather and Guldberg the brother of his wife - my great grandmother.) See the program here.
In Problem 3, you may freely use the result from linear algebra that says that any symmetric matrix is diagonalizable. Recall that a homogeneous degree two polynomial corresponds to a symmetric bilinear form, i.e. to a symmetric matrix.
You find it here, You may of course collaborate, but you have to write the solution with your own words (by hand or tex). Due date is February 28.
Tirsdagsforelesningene er flyttet til 12:15–14, i samme rom (B81). (Husk ingen forelesning tirsdag 21. januar.)
If anybody is interested in doing a PhD in London, there are possibilities:
