The oral exams will take place on Monday May 21. You will be informed of where and when to meet by the department administration.
Today we proved the axiom of choice and the generalized continuum hypothesis for L. This means that we have gone through all curriculum material from Kunen's book.
On Wednesday we will discuss the nature of oral exams, the kinds of questions you may be asked and so forth. I will also, on Wednesday, ask if there are any sections in the curriculum that we should discuss further.
A week from now, we will start on the note on Shoenfield's absolutenes theorem. This should take 2 weeks, maybe + a few minutes.
Next week, on Monday April 30, we will start discussing the note on the analytical hierarchy and Shoenfield's absolutenes theorem. The note can be downloaded from the curriculum page of MAT4640.
We will not do Problem IV - 20 on Wednesday March 28 or later.
The problem set for the mandatory assignment is now posted, see the main page for this term.
The deadline of the mandatory assignment will be Thursday, March 8, 14.30. The assignment set will be posted on the course web-site at least 14 days ahead. You may hand in your solution either directly to Dag Normann by hand or electronically or via the department office. The department do not accept electronic copies.
The seminar room B70 has been reserved for an additional hour, from 13.15 to 14.00 on Wednesdays. We expect to have the final lecture as early as May 16, and will occasionally use this extra hour to compensate for a reduced length of term.
Detailed information about the curriculum, and links to two notes, are now available from the course web-page.
